Playoff Computer

Built by an obsessed human, not an algorithm

From the first incarnation as an Excel spreadsheet in 2010 through the years as a web-app and up to now as a mobile-app, the processes, formulas, and code have always been crafted by an obsessed fantasy football junkie. It might not look all that slick, but know that this is a product of geeky passion.

Features

Import league data from all the cool platforms: ESPN*, MyFantasyLeague, Yahoo*, Sleeper, Fleaflicker, Fantrax, and more.

*leagues must be public or 'publicly viewable'

Automatic Data Import

All the hosting sites are awesome, but none do playoff race analysis accurately. Get the App to know whether teams are eliminated before processing trades dripping with collusion and know whether your own team is safe or whether Hail Mary roster moves are needed.

Definitive Clinched / Eliminated Determinations

Only the Playoff Computer App provides NFL-style scenarios detailing what teams need to happen to clinch a division or playoff spot or be eliminated from the playoffs.

Paths to Clinch / Elimination

Which teams control their own destiny, which ones must win out for any chance, what is the likely needed to make the playoffs, how many wins will guarantee a spot, the App has it all, and more.

Geeky Stats

Do your own what-ifs to see what the playoff race might look like.

League Requirements / Limitations

In order to function as intended, a league should:

  • Play head-to-head games.
  • Sort standings either by winning percentage or by "league-points" (e.g. soccer).
  • Award "record-based" playoff spots on the above sorting, with "points-based" playoff spots for leftover teams an available option for premium users.
  • Have all teams play the same number of games.
  • For normal (non-Median-scoring) leagues, leagues with more than 32 teams or that play more than 16 games per round (e.g. doubleheader rounds) will likely encounter limits to the full functionality of the App. These are difficult to quantify ahead of time as they depend on the exact scenario presented at time of calculations.
  • For leagues that utilize Median scoring (available for premium users), league size is limited to 12 teams and leagues cannot be multi-division or multi-conference or have any remaining doubleheader rounds or bye-weeks. Due to the complexities of Median scoring, some advanced features are not available (e.g. "what-if" scenario generation).
